The Rochester General Hospital Foundation was established in 1978 to encourage giving for the benefit of Rochester General Hospital and its affiliates. All gifts to the Foundation directly benefit the community through improved and expanded patient care programs, services, and facilities and help purchase state-of -the-art medical equipment. These are ongoing needs that can only be met by the philanthropy of people who care.

Today, more than ever, private philanthropy is essential to running a successful health care system. That's why the work of the Rochester General Hospital Foundation is so important to the organizations it supports throughout ViaHealth.

The wonderful services that Rochester General Hospital provide are vital to our community. But the health care field needs the support of a caring community to fulfill its potential. There are never enough funds for research and education. Reimbursement from government and private insurance programs is often insufficient to operate a hospital and expect it to thrive.
